What is the CNC mill?
The CNC mill stands for computer numerical control mill and it removes material to create your customized design based off what you designed on the computer.
What type of mill do we have in the innovation center?
We have 2 Tormach PCNC 440 CNC mills in the innovation center at school.
What are three things I learned about the mill?
I learned that the mill we have at school is the smallest one they make, if you have a higher spindle speed it helps with machine timing, and the chamfer smoothens the edges.
What software do you set up your project in before you use the mill?
Before using the mill you set your project up in fusion 360 to create your design.
What does that software do?
Fusion 360 makes it easy to create a shape or design to be put onto your material.
If I could make anything on the mill what would I make?
Summarizing my learning?
Overall I learned a lot about the CNC mill and how it is a tool that really lets you get creative and bring your creativity to life.
